Finally its done after two years of study and writing the first edition of my new book is up. This is rather a work of love and a learning process. While this book will need a lot more work I wanted it out so to give interested people a chance to read and review it. I'm out of my depth on many of the books topics and would look favourably at intereted persons to contribute and become a co-author for any future editions.

After Vermeer this painting is called 'Study of a young woman' at 44.5 x 40 cm oil on timber panel.and is considered the complement to the famous Girl with a pearl ear ring. Both models are considered daughters of Vermeer.



Here is a copy of Vermeer legendary painting 'The lacemaker' at a tiny 23.9 x 20 cm oil on timber panel. Vermeers original was painting on linen which made it impossible to dupicated the effect of the texture of the ground. The degree of detail is almost impossible to replicate.

Paint barely dried on ths one, "Lady standing at the virginal", yet another copy of the great dutchman Johannes Vermeer, Oil on a 450 tby 520 mm timber panel true to size of the original. I regard this painting as the technical pinnacle of Vermeer, some of the details which can only be appreciated with a magnifying glass.

Oil sketch showing Mona Lisa position in profile.I painted the background landscape, let it dry and then washed it off partially with Turpentine,, which creates an interesting effect of showing off the previous painting on this recycled panel. Copies of Johannes Vermeer the fabled dutch painter, one of the greatest of all time. Here are the first five. Also one of Fabritius which also lived in Delft and is said to was his mentor. The Goldfinch (after C. Other news: I have a nice oil painting of Marylin in progress as well as a replica of the Dutch Mona Lisa (Girl with a pearl earing by Vermeer). The book 'Goosemonk' is getting a final check and I expect the final draft be completed by mid February.
